Businiess name:  All Surface Cleaning Company

Review content:
I called this company out in the summer of 2009 for a cleaning estimate for my cedar shake roof. The salesman who came out said he would provide an appraisal of the roof. I was told my roof was in very good shape, and after climbing around on it he came down and told me that one bundle of cedar shakes had to be replaced at the most, and he would have them applied to the few areas they he said needed them. He repeatedly assured me the integrity of my roof was very good and it simply needed a good cleaning, his company???s special 'waterproofing' treatment and the small isolated shingle repairs. I have also used All Surface these past two summers to blow off the roof as they instructed me in 2009, and have now paid them over $2000.00 for their services. Today (two and a half years later), my roof is leaking badly, and this company just came out and a new salesman told me an entire section of my roof should be removed and replaced, because the shingles in that area -- which had previously been examined by their first salesman and cleaned and treated -- were completely rotten. When I asked this new representative about the discrepancy in opinions, he informed me that the leaks were the result of a ???poor roof design??? and to stop the leaks I would need to pay for the cost and installation of at least three to five bundles of shingles ($625.00 to $875.00). I am baffled as to why I wasn't informed of this 'poor roof design??? in 2009. I have now had two other roofing companies come out to look at things, the leaks have been repaired and they have both confirmed that the entire area needed to be replaced back in 2009, as the shingles could not possibly have deteriorated like this in two and a half years. (One described the cedar shingles as spongy, and the other said they were completely rotten). Both told me I should never have done the cleaning and that I had been misled by this company, one implying that they were primarily a roof cleaning company. One of the roofing contractors asked me, ???If you were a cleaning company, what would you rather do to a shingle? Clean it, or replace it? So I'm gullible and was obviously uninformed when they originally cleaned my roof, and hiring them was my mistake. But there is no question I was clearly and deliberately misled. I will admit that they did do a great job cleaning the roof -- but that's the only thing they did well.
