tut tut--the misrepresentations these guys make. They spread frozen meat on the sidewalk next to a van and say a customer's credit card was turned down so their boss told them to ""get rid of"" the meat. They will say yes if you ask if it's grass fed. They say it's ""Ruth's Chris"" quality certified Angus beef. As others have noted, we have no idea what the stuff is or where it came from. UPDATE: I was talked into buying a box. Guy walked it to my door down the block. I immediately checked yelp, was alarmed, called his phone and said come back, take the box, I don't want it. He said he'd come pick it up, but would have to speak to manager, ""Merio."" Long story short, several calls later, as he said he would be here in 5 minutes later and when 15 passed, I was back on the phone. Spoke to ""Merio,"" who tried to change my mind, said the yelp neg. reviews were untrue and they were going to sue. I happen to be a lawyer who knows defamation law. I didn't believe him, but I told him suing yelpers probably would not get him anywhere. I talked to him as if he were legit. I have the phone records of all these calls-numbers, time, duration. Finally, tall blonde kid appeared at my door, took back the box of meat, said he'd only worked for them couple of months and was still ""training,"" and I told him he should check out yelps about his employer. He seemed nice. Gave me back my credit card receipt, I noted on it the return and the promise that Merio had made, not to put the charge through. Reviewing my card statements, I discovered they put it through--after taking back the meat!!! I called, got a run around with ""Chris"" who said he couldn't reach the boss, but would get back to me. Chris called once more, I told him to return my money. He said he'd get approval from Merio, and he tried to imply that I might have their product. He said he'd get back to me shortly again, but. . .no word. I have reported it as fraud, and I urge anyone else to do the same. We have a record here that should appeal to the local D.A. Also, check out the BBB-Sonoma Cattle does NOT have the licensing it claims. With all we pay for law enforcement and agencies and regulation, somebody should be doing something.
