I found Rosen & Chadick by chance, and have been going back ever since. Beautiful fabrics, and knowlegeable staff, quiet rooms allow for mulling and touching. Still run by one of the original owners, try to get his help if you're there - the stories and suggestions make it worthwhile - many's the time I've found new fabrics and bought more yardage than I planned because of his time and attention! And I'm ok with that! I understand one of the sons is running the business side, and I'm sure he's a great at business, but is not a people person...certainly not customers. The floor staff are not aloof by the way, just quiet and waiting for you to be ready with questions or ready for help.
Pros: knowledgeable staff, quiet atmosphere, good selection, old NY business, prices comparable
