Review content:
Very much about the money, not particularly friendly or caring. Expect good orthodontics, but don't expect much attention, you are a means to an end. Except for the first visit when everyone was all smiles in order to get me to sign on the dotted line, every time we go, I can't shake the feeling that Dr. Gladwell doesn't care much about his patients. I don't think he dislikes them per say; he's not outwardly rude or impolite. You get the feeling that he simply doesn't care one way or the other, he's busy making money. He's disinterested when you try to talk to him (he doesn't stop working on one patient while talking with the parent of the previous patient for instance), he hardly says 2 words to the kids, and he's dismissive or even condescending if you, as a parent have have a specific concern. You get the feeling that he's busy and you are an inconvenience. I don't know if his lack of warmth and attentiveness stems from arrogance, a type A personality or maybe even shyness, but he's all business. On the plus side, visits are short and they will fit you in if your child is in pain. I have to say that for my second child, there is no way I'd bring him to Dr. Gladwell. I'm willing to pay a little more and go see Dr. Cheek-Hill whose dentistry is wonderful and who is personable, warm and approachable. If I have to go see someone every 6 to 8 weeks for nearly 2 years, and hand them $5000, I'd like to feel like more than a walking checkbook.
