My sister's boss took us to Cloverleaf more than 40 years ago. It was an epiphany in eating then and remains a sacred experience today. Normally when I come back to Detroit for a visit, it is the only item on my agenda above visiting family. What makes it so special is that it breaks my personal pattern of preference. Normally I'm not a big tomato sauce guy, but the first bite into the Leaf's chewy-cheesy sauce is, well, mystical. A slice belongs on the list of reasons to keep living...
