Review content:
Zaidi's is located in South Naperville - just off Rte. 59. I first heard of Zaidi's after a friend told me about their blog. The blog had a link to the menu, and after reading it, I knew that I had to get there. My husband and I went there on a Thursday. We each started with one of Zaidi's signature martinis and then ordered two orders of sliders. I don't usually care for martinis, but the Geisha is so delicious and refreshing that I am now a convert. For dinner, I ordered the Braised Lamb Shank. The lamb shank is served with ""mint infused couscous, scallion ponzu & lychee black vinegar reduction"" (a quote from the menu). All I can tell you is that it was the best lamb that I've ever had in my life. When lamb is cooked correctly, it's great. When it's not, forget about it. The braised lamb shank is a must. You have to try it! My husband had the Maine Lobster. It was served with beer-battered Pablano Peppers. What a combination! My husband is from Massachusetts, so he knows a thing or two about fresh lobster. As soon as he took a bite, he gave me a thumbs up, and that's all I needed to know. For dessert, believe it or not, we ordered donuts. I know - it sounds a little different, but Zaidi's donuts were incredible (the Rolls Royce of donuts if you will). Something else that made our evening a little more special was a visit from Mr. Zaidi. He came over, asked us how everything was, how everything tasted, and talked to us like he had known us all his life. It was a great dining experience and we are GOING BACK! We might even go for some martininis and donuts next time. If you're coming from Route 88 and heading down Route 59, be aware that you have to take a left on 83rd street (Oxford Bank is on the S. E. corner) and then a right into the Springbrook Square Shopping Center. Order the donuts!
Pros: Great menu variety and exotic selections
Cons: Too many great menu choices
