Moved in 4 months ago... seemed like a good deal. Decent price, good location, close to everything in Columbia! Decent floorplan, had a HUGE closet,(but small kitchen, lack of counter/cabinet space) and 1BR unit appeared nicer than comparable communities in the Columbia area for the price. We even got a pleasant surprise, for a non-renovated unit, we received new dishwasher, microwave, kitchen cabinets, and flooring! Unfortunately, it's gone downhill from there. One week later, our (old) fridge died. Took a few days to get the new one, they said it was damaged in transit... okay, fine, inconvenient... but stuff happens. Last month, our NEW microwave died and dirty water began backing up into our dishwasher which reeked up the place, and left garbage on the dishes when we washed them (sanitation hazard). It took 19 days, several phone calls, 3 in-person visits, threats and getting laughed at by management to get it fixed. 10 days till 1st response. 5 days until we found out a new microwave hadn't come in yet. 2 days to be told the dishwasher was fine, and another 2 until our fav. handyman came out and fixed a simple bad installation job. Took till winter to get weatherstripping installed on door. Mgt. just changed, today, and we weren't notified of the co. change until after the fact. It's left me feeling rather betrayed. Also, walls are so thin that any shelves installed have come back out, taking chunks of wall with them. Old mgt. didn't shovel stairs, just sidewalks, leading me to some nasty injuries in the first snowstorm in Nov. However, unit looks nice, most appliances work decently. And hopefully new mgt. co. will be more responsive, less rude, and more timely than old one. (Should have been a sign when on movein day there weren't keys for our unit, our paperwork was lost, they made us wait for several hours to get in, and we had to be rather pushy to get service.) --Reviewed 12/28/07 (prior to effective Lamar Group takeover)
