Please do not stay at this hotel.
The other weekend my boyfriend and I booked two nights at Samantha?s Inn and requested one their ?dog friendly? rooms. The room itself was unremarkable, but at least things were clean enough and the heat was effective.
The next morning when I bent down to put the leash on my dog, I noticed two small pills on the floor just under the bed. I inspected these pills and to my horror discovered that these did not belong to my boyfriend or myself. I panicked. My dog had spent the entire night on this floor sniffing around and sleeping. Who knows what else he might have found on the floor. I asked my boyfriend to pack up everything because there was no way that I was going to stay there another night and we also had to figure out where the closest animal hospital was in the case that my dog started to show signs of not feeling well.
When I brought these pills to the reception desk, all I got was an apology. I told her that I wanted to get out of there right away because I was just so upset and worried. I was reimbursed for the second night that we were booked for, though I had to remind her to reimburse me for the pet fee as well. I told her twice that I didn?t think I should have to pay for that first night because of the worry I was feeling. Not once did she offer anything else or even to call the manager for me. I knew I was getting nowhere and didn?t want to waste time because I needed to find an animal hospital (just in case) and find a new place to stay that would allow my dog. I figured I would just write an email and give the staff at Samantha?s Inn a chance to make things right.
I am sad to say that will never happen. At first I was apologized to and asked if there was anything they could do to make things better. When I told them that I didn?t feel as though I should pay for that first night because my whole weekend was ruined, I was denied my request. Since I did not specifically ask for the manager at the time, and they spoke to house keeping, they felt that one night reimbursement was fair. I disagree with this. Their website advertised ?dog friendly? rooms and that is not what I received. PLEASE do not stay here if you have a dog or small child who might get a bit too curious about something they see on the floor. Though Samantha?s Inn doesn?t like to see dissatisfied customers, they will not go out of their way to make sure there aren?t any.
Pros: Location
Cons: Bad Customer Service, Not very clean
