Review content:
This rating is based solely on shoddy and deceptive management policies. I actually like the gym itself; the facilities are fine for what I need, the place is clean, the hours are great, and I have no complaints against the staff I encounter day to day. And I do like the fact that it's a gym where everyone can feel comfortable. Classes and guidance are minimal to non-existent, but if you're comfortable dealing with a gym on your own, it's fine.
HOWEVER, I am really irate about their renewal practices. They sent me a coupon at the end of last year to renew for $99 for the year, so I went in and filled out the form they gave me, they gave me a new membership card, and told me the old one was no longer valid. Turns out, next month I discover they're still billing for the old membership (on a monthly basis). They claim I needed to cancel my membership, since I was given a new one, even though I clearly went in to RENEW, not get a new one, and I was told the old card wasn't valid. When I (and others who were caught by this scam) complained, we were told they have a policy of not issuing refunds. It's a cheap gym, so it's not a huge amount of money, but it's a deliberate scam and people ought to be aware of it.
