I booked a private horseback riding lesson at Park Pacifica Stables and received an email confirmation from the owner April for a start time of 10am on a Saturday. I showed up at 10am and she seemed surprised to see me, claiming my lesson was at 11am. So I hung around awhile as she had four other students getting ready to go at 10am. (There was also another young kid riding around in the arena without a helmet, which I thought was pretty unsafe.) After awhile her assistant tacked up a horse for me and I entered the arena in the saddle but received little to no instruction from April over the course of the hour. After the lesson I had to chase April down to pay - they did not take credit cards and I was $10 short of cash. I told her I would pay the balance the following week and she said that was fine.
