I got a great quote from this moving company but that is just about where the good experience ended.
First, the movers were 3 hours late. And my husband and I were given the run around when we called to inquire. We were told multiple reasons why they weren't at our apartment yet.
Second, we were blatantly under quoted on how much cubic footage our possessions would take up. I went over the major items with the saleswoman, but she blatantly under estimated the amount of space our things would take up, and it was never explained to me that if our inventory did not match what was discussed EXACTLY, we would be charged by the cubic foot and the quote would be meaningless.
Some might say that we should have measured everything in our apartment more carefully, but they ended up charging us more than DOUBLE the original quote. Any sane person would call that a scam, not a business model.
Third, when we were making the arrangements for delivery we were told that they couldn't guarantee a time. We explained to them that our apartment building scheduled move in times and they needed to be there. It's what we were paying for.
Fourth, we have to ask for our bed to be reassembled and the movers on the delivery end seemed surprised by the request. It also took them about an hour to put a simple frame together and the hardwood floor was scratched up in the process.
Fifth, we had some damage. One item was damaged in the move, one item was damaged due to how it was packed by the movers, and four items were missing out of a bin. We have filed claims but have been getting the run around.
My recommendation is to just go with another company unless you are prepared to measure everything very carefully, document every last thing you put in a box and take pictures.
The quote is cheap but our experience has been terrible.
