Review content:
I just got rid of these artists as my primary service providers, I also filed a grievance against them upon recommendation of the insurance company. So, here is my 3-part sad story:
1. When I walked in for the first time, they tried to get me to sign a sheet asking for an OSHA fee of $5 per visit. When asked why, they said it was to disinfect their instruments. When I asked if a sterile instrument is an option or an integral part of any service, they gave me some lip about how the insurance company does not cover the cost of that. I told them this was bogus and I said I did not want to sign that and that I was going to walk out, at this point, they backed off and said that indeed my insurance company did cover that cost. Wow!! But as I waited my turn in the lobby, I saw how they fleeced patient after patient out of $5 for the phony OSHA charges.
2. Once with the hygienist, she took a number of x-rays, she was very nice and said she would look at the film and then come start cleaning. At that point, the dentist (a real piece of work huckster) came in and started poking around in my mouth. Then, she told me to get up off the chair and advised me that I did not need regular cleaning but deep cleaning which would set me back by around $400. Thus, I walked out after wasting an hour with no preventative work done.
3. Two years ago, we had another plan from the same insurance company at that time, my wife had gone in to Oviedo Dental Center and she went through the exact same drill and walked out with an estimate of close to $1000 worth of deep cleaning. When my wife told them she just wanted a regular cleaning, they told me that the insurance company would cancel their contract if they gave her a regular cleaning, instead she had to get this expensive cleaning or nothing. Total BS!!
PLEASE STAY AWAY, IF YOU GET TOO CLOSE, THEY WILL BURN A HOLE IN YOUR POCKET FOR SURE.
