My wife and I made our first (but certainly not last) visit to Jekyll Island as a day-trip from Jacksonville, FL. Normally I shun buffets, but when we saw the oceanview location of Blackbeards we stopped to check into the buffet. Best move we could have made. We arrived shortly after the buffet opened at 5pm on a Saturday. The price was $24.95 and worth every penny, since that is the price range on the Island just for Low Country Boil or Crab Legs and the buffet had both. In addition, they served appetizers of oysters & mussels on the half shell, peel n eat shrimp, 3 salads, fried fish, fried shrimp, baked fish, shrimp etoufee, shrimp gumbo, BBQ Chicken and carved prime of beef. with au jus. Rice Pilaf, Mac & Cheese and Southern Style butter Beans were the sides and corn bread was offered. Dessert was Peach cbbler and several cakes. Mixed drink were a reasonable $5 and $6 (we paid that for Beer eartlier at the Rah Bar) and service was excellent. I highly recommend Blackbeard's seafood buffet. Pros: Great selection and price
