Review content:
Bistro Maison measures up to the standards of New York and Paris, because that's where the owners perfected their crafts. The service is excellent including expert advice on local wines (a reason why the McMinnville location actually does make sense). Chef Jean-Jacques emphasizes fresh local ingredients in his authentic bistro cuisine, from wild mushrooms and salmon to an excellent 2lb. steak (for two). The fondues, pomme frites with (should I say avec?) aioli, incredible sauces, breads, many seasonal special items--all made on site and delicious. I was won over by the onion soup (vegetarian, too). For dessert, try the profiteroles au chocolat. Patio dining in the summer reminds us why we live in Oregon, and Bistro Maison shows us we don't have to give up all of the joys of the city to be here.
