Review content:
I've been going to Tommy D's for almost two years now and its one of my favorite bars in the Square. Dress up or dress down, you can always feel at home there. I love that there is something at TD's for whatever mood I'm in--I can go when I want to dance and drink and go to the top floor, or if I want a beer and some apps and good conversation with friends, there's space on the main floor or the basement lounge where i can actually hear the people at the table I'm at. The bartenders on the top floor get special props for creative mixing (I never know what I want, and they will always make something special) and always being friendly, especially when the bar is a few people deep. I celebrated my birthday here as well and with great space and good prices, it was the best place to bring a large group of friends. There are lots of great bars in the Square but Tommy Doyle's is the best of all worlds, balancing club and pub, food and drink, and being a place meeting new people or banking on running into tons of friends. If I don't want to dress up and behave myself at Grafton, but want to avoid the skeeziness of the Kong 2nd floor (which lets be honest, has its moments of fun), TD's is the place for good company and fun on all ends of the dance-to-don't dance/lets get wasted-to-glass of wine/pre-game the night-to-spend all night spectrums. Love TD's.
Pros: great staff, great venue, great company
Cons: top floor can overcrowd leading to a line filling up the main floor
