Review content:
We made a reservation for a Tuesday night to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. We arrived on time to find there would be a 10-minute wait. (no apologies) After 15 minutes, we were shown to a booth next to the swinging doors of the kitchen. (We had specifically asked when we made reservations to be seated away from the kitchen.) We went back to the front and asked to speak to the manager. While we waited, one of the girls showed us to a table in the center of the restaurant. The manager came over, and we explained calmly about the wait and the table near the kitchen. His response blew us away: ""We're a busy restaurant, so you just have to wait sometimes even if you have a reservation. We gave you one of the best tables in the house. (right next to the kitchen!) What did you expect? An empty restaurant?"" At which point, we said: ""No, but we expected a more respectful manager."" Don't know what his deal was (by the look of it too much red meat), but good luck during this recession. We plan to tell everyone we know to never spend a dime in your restaurant. (I've already told everyone I work with.) Guess the Fields manager has never heard the saying: ""The customer is always right."" I wouldn't be surprised at all if Steve Fields suffers the same fate as the two or three restaurants in that little area that have gone out of business. By the way, the $200 dinner we had at Ruth's Cris was fabulous. Cons: worst service ever
