Review content:
We recently purchased a new vehicle from Superior Toyota and I must say I have mixed feelings about them. On our first visit they were very low pressure and easy to work with. On our second visit (and our visits were a big deal to us, as we had to haul our four month old baby around and try to keep her appeased) it was quite apparent that they didn't want us to leave without buying a vehicle and I think we were okay with that, as we'd decided that we DID want a Toyota and it was quite difficult to make trips in just to look when you're toting a baby. Basically, we asked to look at more feature-packed options of the vehicle we ended up purchasing, but were told they didn't have any in stock, but they did have a super-good deal on a current model year vehicle with the same options. (It ended up only having a few of the options.) We ended up purchasing a vehicle that we were happy with, but for not a lot more money (and actually significantly less long-term money with the available financing) we could have received a vehicle with many more features ??just not from them, as they didn't have any in stock. In retrospect I think they might have intentionally led us to believe that we were getting all of the features of the package we WOULD have purchased because had they actually talked about that package with us, we would have said, ""call us when you get one in"" and then gone home and noticed that other area Toyota dealers had those very vehicles on their lots. I'm still not certain if this deception was intentional or accidental, but? what really bugs me about the whole situation is that we finished purchasing the vehicle late on Saturday afternoon. By Saturday evening ? after going through the owners manual and realizing how many features we missed out on and then going to Toyota's website and seeing that we could have purchase more features for less money ??I felt deceived and that we'd made a mistake. On Sunday morning, I called our salesperson on this cell and politely told him that we were upset and that if possible we'd like to work out a different deal. He asked if I could come in on Monday to talk about it, so I took off work on Monday morning to go settle things. And here's the kicker? When I went in on Monday morning I was told that there was nothing that could be done because the paperwork for our purchase was processed Monday before the doors opened. Just to review: we purchase on Saturday afternoon, we ask for a new deal on Sunday morning, the paperwork that locks us into the deal we have gets processed on Monday morning before our scheduled meeting to talk about it. The only recourse I had was to cancel all of the extended services we'd purchased ??which I did. And while we like our new vehicle, it's hard not to think about how much happier we SHOULD have been with this purchase. Again, I think we got a good deal on what they had available, but this experience has permanently soured me on the idea that the dealer just wants to get you the right vehicle at a price you're happy with. I'm fairly confident that they were just concerned with getting the deal that was best for them and we got lost in the shuffle and possibly taken advantage of because they knew we didn't want to cart a baby from one car dealer to the next. I intend to never do business with Superior again if I can avoid it. Pros: Worked to get us a good deal Cons: Didn't sell us the right vehicle; Maybe conned us
