Review content:
I've lived in Arborwood for about 3 years. I've only stayed here out of laziness and because it's one of the few places that allows dogs without wanting you to give an arm and leg to have them. But the pet-friendliness is also one of the biggest problems I've had with the place. At any given time, there's half a dozen dogs running around without even collars on (and they're not under voice and sight control either). I've been charged by dogs while carrying in groceries at night, and my dog (which is always on a leash) has been attacked by a free-roaming dog on more than one occasion. I often have to avoid the front entrance to my building in order to avoid conflicts with these dogs because their owners make no attempts to curb them. The atmosphere and aesthetics of Arborwood is really quite nice (with lots of trees, open space, and periods of quiet), but many of the people who live here are rude and arrogant about acting like common areas are their own private spaces. Common courtesy of others seems to be a foreign concept at Arborwood, as my ""neighbors"" habitually stare inside my home like pod people and rarely clean up after their dogs. The HOA or Board has a long list of rules, including that dogs must be leashed, but doesn't enforce any of them or respond to complaints. I also agree with another reviewer about the maintenance guy-he's kind of creepy and stays here from 6 am until after 7 pm, and it's not because he's working hard, since I've hardly seen him do more than cut the grass. Overall, unless you don't mind being charged by dogs and leered at by nosy neighbors and maintenance staff, I don't recommend Arborwood. It's really too bad, because the greenery is really nice and even the style of the buildings reminds me of a cute village in the French countryside, but it's not worth all the hassles of the anything goes attitude. Pros: Pet-friendly, Trees Cons: Too pet-friendly, No privacy, First apartment complex in Boulder (old)
