I've lived here both in 1994, and from late 2004 to late 2006, while my homes were being built. Positives: Near Boston (18 min to downtown, no traffic), near major highways, near shopping/restaurants on 138, pets permitted, flex lease lengths. Negatives: Not near public transportation. Only one way out of complex - by Route 138, which can be prone to some very lengthy backups at rush hour. (On several occasions, it took me nearly a 1/2 hour to get from 128 to the complex, which is usually a 3 minute ride. ) Stores/restaurants not easily accessible on foot. Pets permitted, but deposit and monthly fees are required, and size/breed restrictions apply. No elevators in bldgs. Complex does not screen pets beyond requiring rabies vaccinations, so noisy, aggressive, or ill dogs (which in turn, affect or infect other pets) were constant problems. Odors were very common in buildings - ventilation is poor, and strong ethnic cooking smells do creep into your unit, as well as cigarette smoke. Another problem is that the complex is dominated by Section 8 recipients. Many of these individuals come from the inner city, and apparently do not understand how to responsibly, safely, and considerately live in the suburbs. Loud music, drug/drinking activity, youth gangs, are some of the activities causing trouble at this community. It was not unusual to find v-mit in the hallway on Sun mornings, broken glass in the halls, etc. - check police records for verification! Many of these tenants do not practice basic safety techniques (such as shutting stoves and washing machines off when unattended, leading to several fire dept visits while I was there - again, check town records) and hygiene standards (letting garbage collect on balconies, dog waste accumulating, etc.) Management is polite but is very slow to respond to serious concerns such as blocked toilets, broken lights in the hallways, cleaning up unsanitary conditions, etc. I cannot recommend this complex, due to my experiences. Pros: Location, availability of units, pets permitted, short-term lease Cons: Poor management/maintenance, criminal activity, hygiene/safety/security concerns, nuisance concerns
