Review content:
I was a seminary student in San Antonio for two years, graduating this past May, and this particular Jim's is where I had the best affordable student meals and conversations with friends and professors.
Jim's is a classic icon of San Antonio from what I gathered during my time there. The original on Broadway St. is quite a charmer, but by far this location holds my candle. The staff was always so sweet and varied in age. We came at various crazy hours, and to find polite cheerful dispositions at 2 am is refreshing!
If you go, everything on the menu is homemade, delicious and affordable. But please have a basket of fried mushrooms for me! The staff will tell you they are the most popular appetizer. They became the center of our meals, with a side of ranch instead of gravy.
Have fun! Expect great service, food, and affordability at any of their MANY locations in San Antonio.
