Businiess name:  Bacco Ristorante

Food: 4.5 / 5; Service 3 / 5. The food on our recent visit (12/31/2011) to Bacco was mostly very good. Filet mignon, salmon and lamb chomps were all very good. The seafood pasta, however, tasted like boxed pasta. For the prices being charged, we expect homemade. If it was homemade, it was disappointing. The salads were very good with the only complaint about that course was the ""tower"" salad had a LOT of tomatoes. Desserts were very good. The service was overwhelming and sporadic. We had barely sat down when we were swarmed by no less than 4 people. One to place the napkin in our lap, the waiter and 2 others who...I'm not sure what they were there for! The most notable service problems: part of our party had their order taken and then the waiter walked away (this happened twice); servers reached over one person to serve another person; server seemed more interested in the neighboring table than us. Reaching over guests may not be too big of a deal except that one time was during coffee service and passing a cup of coffee to a guest and expecting them to handle it is not a move appropriate for a restaurant striving to be at the level of Bacco. I don't mind a waiter giving attention to other guests, but I do mind when my service suffers while he banters away with them. I don't know that I'll go back as the prices were a bit high for the entire combination of food and service.
