Review content:
I've been here for lunch and dinner. Both times, I noticed that they were still having to work out issues with the service. The first time, they seemed to be nervous, and the second time, they were just harried. Also, the water/bread/coffee staff did not know how to serve properly. *However*, the food made it all worth it. I was amazed by how flavorful the food was and how wowed I was by the smell alone when they served it. One of the dishes has crab beignets -- which you will be disappointed with in terms of the size, but the flavor packed into this pea-sized beignet is amazing. The 7-course tasting menu is highly recommended to get a range of the dishes. They are small courses, but you will be very full at the end. I'd been to the Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's in London, and that location was head and shoulders better than this location particularly in terms of the service. However, for a restaurant in LA, this location did have much better food and on par service with restaurants locally. If Gordon is hoping to get another Michelin star from this place, he'll have to get his staff working better in terms of service, but I don't think he'll have to worry about the food!
Pros: Amazing food
Cons: Service is good for LA, but still needs to be worked on
