Businiess name:  Gordon Ramsay at The London - West Hollywood

Review content:
The menu, presentation, food, decor , ambience, the wine list and just about everything at Gordon Ramsay at the London WH was SUPERB. I appreciate fine dining & have to say Gordon Ramsay & Josh Emmet do a great job here!! I would have awarded 5 stars, but the service needs to improve a bit before one can compare it with other 5 star?s. While I found the wait staff friendly, knowledgeable and trying their best, the service was a bit disjointed and awkward. This will be less an issue as the staff becomes more confident. We dined here a week ago with my family and it was an exceptionally enjoyable evening for us all. Our party of 8 was seated very promptly. In terms of food, both the imagination and quality behind the food were outstanding and we tried just about every dish on the menu. Regarding complaints about the portions being too small, I offer this ""KNOW BEFORE YOU GO"": THE MENU IS DESIGNED AND ENCOURAGES SHARING, ALLOWING DINERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SAMPLE THE EXTENSIVE VARIETY OF TASTES, FLAVORS AND TEXTURES. 4 - 5 plates for two people should be enough, as the foods can be rich. IF YOU ARE SEEKING OVERSIZED OR HEARTY PORTIONS, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. Favorites included the Risotto, Seared Scallops, the Kobe Steak & Short ribs, and I especially liked the Duck accompanied with seared foie gras. The menu offers Sashimi and universally appealing dishes such as Buratta Mozzarella with Heirloom Tomato. If a large group, pass on the tasting menu and go with the a la carte option for variety. Small groups, I would recommend a chefs tasting at least. The restaurant is not inexpensive, but it is reasonable; plan on spending $80-$100 a person (w/ tip) if you drink moderately (2 drinks). The wine list offers a fantastic selection of reasonably priced wines so pairings are made easy. In conclusion, the meal was as good as expected and I am very happy we went and definitely will be there again. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Location, Wine List Cons: Service Staff still getting up to speed
