My girlfriends and I get together from time to time to "catch up" with each other, and enjoy a great meal. Last week we decided to get together before the holiday season began...at a new restaurant "Circle S Catfish Grill". At first I wasn't too happy about their choice, as I have never cared for catfish, but they assured me that they offered more than just catfish. I had a little trouble finding the restaurant, as all I was told was"It's about 5 or 6 miles north of the new Walmart on Main St. in Saginaw". They neglected to point out that it was in the same building as Fat's Billiards. Anyway, I finally found it, and thought to myself..."gosh,it's small, until I walked in the door! It's quite a large place....very festive place....but not TOO festive!! They had our table ready for us( we called in advance), so there was no waiting...although another rather large group came in while we were eating, and they were accommodated in a flash!!
Some of my friends ordered the fried catfish and RAVED about it. One had the blackened catfish and said that it was absolutely wonderful. I chose the grilled chicken breast along with sautéed veggies.....it was fantastic! I especially LOVED the sautéed veggies in the lemon-pepper and garlic butter sauce!!
It is a family-owned business, and one of the owners came to our table to check on us. She was so nice and friendly. She told us that her youngest son works for Wolfgang Puck out in Hollywood, and that he had helped create a lot of their dishes!! YUMMY!!!
The desserts were out of this world!!!
The waitress was top-notch, and the prices even better!
No more Chili's for me!
