Review content:
I grew up in Cleveland, currently live in DC, visit NYC frequently, spent 6 months in Paris/France and I've still never found a better vintage store. Most vintage stores have a handful of decent items (usually costume jewelry or hats), a bunch of costume-y, 'retro' items, and some overpriced glorified thrift store finds. Not Flower Child. The vast majority of their stuff (clothes, art, kitch toys/objets d'art, furniture, glassware, records, magazines) is from the 50s-70s. Some things are admittedly overpriced, especially the tee-shirts, but most things are pretty reasonable when you think of it compared to other stores and not Goodwill. And there is always the occasion great find for cheap. You could (and I have) spent 3+ hours there, and still have rooms you've never seen. The womens clothing is generally better quality and more varied, but for a vintage store the men's selection is great. Some of the best finds are the glassware, like huge, immaculate punch bowl sets. Also, the costume jewelry selection is the best I've seen outside of NYC or Paris, and far cheaper. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. In a sea of H&Ms and Targets, Flower Child is a retail maverick that's always fun to visit, even if you don't buy anything. We are lucky to have it in Cleveland.
Pros: amazing selection, reasonable prices, HUGE
Cons: some items overpriced
