The food is great, but I cannot recommend this restaurant because they add their own tip onto your bill. Unless you request and examine a printed receipt, you might never know! Nowhere is this policy posted. (THEY DO RUDELY STATE ON THE MENU THAT AFTER YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER, YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT .) The amount added to my bill recently amounted to nearly 30% and was more than the tip I would normally have left (15 - 20%, depending on the service). Is this legal? I know sometimes restaurants add an extra service charge on if you have a large group of people, but it was just two of us. The thing is, I don't know when they started this policy and I usually leave a tip on the table! I could even have been calculating their tip based on a total including their added tip! AND, they still have the audacity to have a tip jar at the cash register. WATCH THESE PEOPLE LIKE A HAWK.
