Review content:
We love sushi and will drive long distances to find a good place. Driving from Fort Worth to Dallas to experience the chef's table at Zen Sushi was one of the best meals we had in a long time. We made reservations after reading a review in the Dallas Morning News. The $100 per person tasting menu seemed like a lot, but it was well worth it. The Japanese Red Snapper done in a ceviche was amazing. Each course got better and better. Loved chef Michelle's take on surf and turf. Lobster tail with a mayo fish egg dipping sauce, beef just seared lightly and served like sushi nigiri! A cool mushroom dish (my husband ate the entire thing, and he hates mushrooms!) and a few speciality rolls rounded out the meal. The desserts were good, but not necessary for us, don't get me wrong, we just about licked the plate, but I'll take some good tuna over chocolate any day. Not only was the food outstanding, it was a great time speaking with the chef througout the meal. We left feeling full and completely happy and checking our schedules to see when we could come back. While I'm sure the regular menu is great, the chef's table has spoiled us. I think that's the way to go to really see what the place is all about.
Pros: service, food
Cons: parking
