For our engagement stone, my fiance and I decided to mine, cut, and polish our own stone.
We needed a jeweler to create a mount based based on our design. I approached basically every jeweler in Philadelphia's Jewelers' Row. Some tried to pressure me into buying a diamond ring in lieu of our stone while others agreed to the project but only if I bought another expensive piece of theirs.
The Campbell's not only took interest in our project but were friendly and made me feel comfortable. They were exceptionally responsible and honest--no pushy sales tactics, just excellent customer service.
And they did a great job with the ring!
