Review content:
It's true, JS Kennels offers so many breeds and mixed breeds, you have to wonder what kind of operation it is. It was an experience that was very business like. NOT like the mom-pop breeders I have dealt with in the past. I purchased a pup 1,900 miles away, and the pup arrived well packaged, well documented, and very business like. The cost was fair ($625) including the shipping for a hybred. These dogs you can find in a mall for $2500+ so on that line it was a deal (mall dogs are from puppy mills anyways). The kennel is registered with the USDA : Illinois 10447 33-B-0337 Scheetz, Jason Js Kennels 2446 North County Road 1500 Niota 62358. Katie comes from a family of pork-producers, The Jim Scheetz Family of Niota was recognized as the 2006 Illinois Pork Producer Family of the Year by the Illinois Pork Producers Association. Hope they don't keep the puppies in pens like the pigs are! But all in all the pup came pretty clean, on time with tons of Airline emails tracking the arrival. With a little coaxing with some liver treats the pup came out of the airline carrier happy and playful! Chased me around, then pooped on the only rug in the house! But that's a puppy for you!!! The tail was nubbed- sometimes referred to as ""DOCKED"" I really hate when breeders do that, but I forgot to ask if this pup was docked..... I hope something grows in, I love a wagging tail! I believe Katie is running a business, perhaps this is only a mall-quality puppy, but the cost was the advantage. I could not afford a $2500 mall puppy-hybred, and couldn't find a hybred home-breeder in my area. So this worked out so far for me. It is yet to be seen if the dog grows up with any ailments. I'm getting the vitamins from petmeds at a discount, so I won't void my pup warranty. Hopefully I picked a hardy hybred, and I pray everything goes smoothly for the future with this pup. Pros: Cost effective Puppies, Lots to choose from Cons: Same risk as any online company
