J.R. Muggs has been around for about 13 years now. A local staple of the community, this cafe has recently lost 60% of it's business to the Starbucks that shamelessly opened, with a drive-through, across the street. Nevertheless, J.R. Muggs has a solution: You may call your order in ahead of time, and they will bring it out to your car! Is that customer service, or what!
Pros: Fair-trade freshly roasted coffee, Local family owned business, Only one block from El Cerrito Del Norte BART
Cons: They close too early for my afternoon fix!!
