Review content:
North Shore Yoga's new facility in Northfield town center offers an amazing calming atmosphere in which to practice yoga. As you enter the studio you are surrounded by natural light, natural stone and wood and the soothing sounds of a waterfall. The Yoga rooms offer a very clean Zen feel that eliminates distractions from your practice. The instructors are incredibly professional, offering challenging yet relaxing yoga classes. The yoga is all based on Astanga Vinyasa Flow and can vary from gentle asanas creatively linked together to very vigorous astanga primary series classes. This studio is also one of the few studios that offer Mysore style Astanga Yoga. The owner, Sharyn Galindo is an advanced student of Astanga and Pranayama and teaches the Mysore classes in which each student practices at his/her own pace and level with individual instruction from the teacher. In addition, to the asanas you can expect some instruction in Pranayama, meditation or a reading from some spiritual text. The great thing about North Shore Yoga is that the teachers create a wonderful sacred space that is safe for the students to explore the true meaning of yoga in their own body, mind and soul. Classes are also reasonable at $16 and there is lots of parking. Finally, if you want to buy some new yoga clothes or accessories, the studio also contains a very up to date and chic yoga boutique. All in all a wonderful yoga experience.
Pros: Warm and inviting staff, Zen like atmosphere, highly experienced instructors
Cons: Hard to find initially
