I moved to northern Virginia from Michigan two years ago, and I have been disappointed with all of the hair salons that I have tried thus far. I especially have not been pleased with any haircut experience that I have had. After my last episode of having one side of my hair about one inch shorter than the other side (the stylist tried to convince me that it was a great cut), I decided to search the internet for hair salons in Annandale, VA. After reading all of the positive reviews about how excellent Paul Michael is with cuts and color, I called him and asked him if he could see me right away. I explained that I was going away on vacation and that my haircut was awful. He told me that I come come in immediately and that he would work me into his schedule. What's so strange is that this is a salon that I dirve by every single day, and I didn't pay any attention to it because it really looks from the exterior that it is just your basic family hair care salon. I can honestly say, however, that I have never had a better haircut ... ever! Also, I am African American and have very wavy hair without a relaxer, and he was able to make the texture very silky and straight. We discussed how he would go about coloring my hair, and I am completely convinced that he will do a phenomenal job. Though I have been to other salons that perhaps had finer decor, I have never been more satisfied anywhere else than I was at Paul's. This just goes to illustrate that you cannot judge a book by its cover.
Pros: excellent for all hair types and textures.
