I was beside myself before going on vacation for 10 days because I have 3 cats and an African Grey parrot that was previously in poor health. I hate getting too many vaccines for my cats because I had a cat get feline sarcoma (cancer) from feleuk vaccine before. I would not be able to board them without that vaccine and worried horribly about it. Also because of my parrot's health issues, my bird was getting a new and varied diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh baked birdie bread, etc. Who or where could I find someone who would tend to all my cats and my bird? My husband and I have no children or relatives nearby to rely on for petsitting and so our vacations over the last decade have been brief to non-exitant. Even if I did board my 3 cats at my regular vet, he was not a bird doctor. So I was looking at carting my animals to two different vets, something that just added to my to-do list before vacation. And the cost... Well I searched around and found ANIMAL AUNT, Cindie Loucks. She had experience, references, was trained for animal emergency care, and had been in business for years. Luckily she serviced the downriver area to include me out here in Berlin Twp., on Huron River Dr. that I refer to as ""the boonies."" I sent her an email about my predicament and was able to book her for our trip a month away. When I spoke to her I found that she recently pet sitted for a neighbor down the road from me. When my husband and I met her and her husband, we knew we found someone who truly loves animals, a regular animal auntie!
