We purchased a Christmas Tree from the Katy location of the Houston Garden Center. A few weeks later there were ticks crawling off of the tree and into my dining room and entry way. Apparently ticks hatch after being in a warm area (a heated house) after a few weeks and spread out in search of food. I never thought to inspect our tree before we purchased it because the garden center says that they inspect them. Regardless, our tree was infested with ticks so we had to remove it immediately (a week before christmas) and spend hours cleaning up the hundreds of ticks in my carpet! We went back to the location to give them their tree back and the manager told us to call Matt Hooper (the owner) and discuss it with him. I called him > 15 times over a 2 week period and could never get him on the phone nor did I receive a call back. I was rudely informed that he was the only person I could talk to and that there was nothing else they could do. The receptionist hung up on us 4 times and told us that she ""didn't have time to deal with this"". THAT'S THEIR JOB!! In short, they have NO customer service at all, will hang up on you, and not return your phone calls. I will never shop here again and I would caution anyone who does to double check your purchase for critters as you will not receive a refund or get anyone on the phone to help you.
