I booked both my bachelorette party and my wedding hair & makeup through this place. At first, I went through a quite overzealous spa director who could NOT keep my information straight, continually leaving me messages that I could upsell to other packages, or I needed to pay- she was quite clearly confusing me with other clients. Their spa manager Trisha did all booking over the phone with me, including asking me to pay for 50% of the amount for the hair and makeup. I paid this over the phone via my MC on 8/16/2010 in the amount of $270.00. There was no contract signed. During the last week of August I received a voice mail message from Samantha at Intuition. She stated that Trisha had been let go, and she was now in charge of my file. She confessed that she did not have all the details of what my wedding day involved, and even noted that a lot of info seemed to be missing. I was concerned. I re-explained what we had going on, and she brought up that we might be getting Hurricane Earl coming through. I expressed concern over this as well and asked her if I should cancel. She said that it certainly made her nervous/concerned about driving to Brewster, and that I could cancel if I wanted but she suggested that we wait until it was closer to the date. I agreed and we terminated the call. I attended my spa party located at the spa's location on Sept 2nd. At that time, I was told by the staff that day that Samantha was the person in charge. After my party had finished up and i was paying for the day's services, I talked to Samantha face-to-face at the reception desk. We discussed whether we should proceed with the wedding day services slated for Saturday the 4th, or cancel. Samantha said the hurricane made her nervous. I told her I was inclined to just cancel the services to keep things simple. She suggested that instead, I call her the next day (Friday the 3rd) and we could talk about it once the level of severity of the storm was better understood. I specifically asked if I could still get my refund back if I waited until Friday. Samantha said no problem at all. We both agreed that she would call my cell phone the next day. The next day, the 3rd, Samantha did call, leaving me a voice mail asking if the hair and makeup was on or if we were calling it off. I called the spa back directly, not sure who I spoke to though it was not Samantha, to confirm that we would indeed be canceling the hair and makeup, since the Hurricane was to hit mere hours before the outdoor event. Since then, I have attempted to amicably ask for a refund in full. I have had numerous email correspondences with the spa, and they finally did offer ot give back 50% of the money paid. I am entitled to the whole refund though. I followed the rules. I was told by the person who was presented to me as the person in charge that I could have the whole refund. Additionally, the spa services themself were terrible. I have been a massage therapist for over 10 years. Of my spa party itself, thye actually forgot to book my services- the BRIDE! We ran probably close to 3 hours behind. THe food and beverages served did not meet any kind of hygiene quality level either, though the copius amounts of mimosas served were nice (this is illegal, by the way). My massage was done by a therapist straight out of school, when I told her I thought maybe the massage table was crooked she told me she didnt know how to adjust it. the massage was terrible...I wanted to leave after the first 20 minutes and I love massages! I did not get a manicure for my own wedding because they ran out of time....it was not organized and it probably took me 1 hour to check out even though I had a spreadsheet with records of who paid what. The owners do not care that this all happened. It is sad. Please do not waste your money or your special day by going here.
