Review content:
For the sake of balancing the 2 good reviews, I must tell our side of the story. My 20-something daughter and I almost left the moment we walked in. The salon was like an assembly line workshop. The greeting was rushed, unfriendly and impersonal. The manicure/pedicure was worse. Don't get me wrong, the end result was basically nice looking nails. The manner in which it was accomplished was anything but relaxing. The service was incredibly rushed and definitely ROUGH. It was NOT spa-like by any means. To make me lift my foot or move, I was repeatedly tapped on the leg instead of getting verbal cues which I understand now is not unheard of. But when I asked to tell me simply what she wanted instead, nothing changed. Whatever was done was done way TOO FAST and herky-jerky. She cut me with the scissors and I now have a scab detracting from the nicely polished toenail ~ not to mention opportunity for infection. We should've listened to our gut and gotten out after the first 2 minutes but felt awkward about doing so. It def was not worth the money, which came to $82 for both of us. Communication was limited, warmth-factor absent, skills marginal, and it was actually STRESSFUL for us. My feet cramped up; for the manicure I had to hold my hands elevated with no surface to rest them. Huh? When polishing my fingernails 'my girl' rested her arm/bracelet on my fresh paint leaving a ding. I've never had such an UNRELAXING experience in a salon. A dentist office or out-patient surgery, yes. We had hoped for a relaxing, bonding experience and all we got was pretty polish, a small wound, and hopefully something to laugh about years from now.
