This was the worst experience I have had at a salon. I had contacted the make-up artist Vanessa Lees several months ago to discuss doing my make-up for my wedding date. She had told me during our initial conversation that she would be able to accomodate me for make-up (no minimum persons if done on-site) and the hairstyles could be done at the By Design salon. After another bride who was booked that day added another five people from her wedding party to receive services, Vanessa called and asked me if I got my hair done at a different salon she could travel to do my make-up. She said she would ""waive"" her travel fee minimum because of the trouble with the other brides' change in plans (and the period of time when she wasn't returning my phone calls). I just recently went to make-up trial...which was horrible! Not only was the make-up uneven, but she was deffensive to suggestions as to what would make the make-up more my style. When we got to the front counter she upcharged me from the intial $85 (with the waived travel fee) to $155! When I explained our previous conversations to regain clarity in the matter she only stated that I would never find anyone else to travel for less than that! She also mentioned I would not find anyone with the time that was now left before my wedding!!! It was obvious that I was no longer worth her time now that the more important bride had expanded the needs for her service. This experience was absolutley a nightmare and Vanessa's attitude was really horrible. I was really nervous about finding someone else to do my make-up and had already wasted my time and $50 on the trial (which I would have never gone to had I known she was lying and going to charge me for travel & the minimum person charge), but I ended up cancelling the appointment for the wedding date. Now am left scrambling to find someone else. I even called Vanessa to try and see if we could come to some agreement and she has yet to return my call. Pros: nothing Cons: price, professionalism, attitude, reliability
