Review content:
Friday, noon, July 30, 2010. We went there for the first time. The hostess took us to a table next to a big window with a very good view. We later found that there was also a glass door nearby that could be opened to the outside. The waitress did her job with efficiency and celerity, but the cook did not. I wouldn't say it was a busy day there, but it took a usually long time before the food was served, not just for us, but for the other tables too. Meanwhile, the glass door was being opened and closed by the waiters and waitresses going though to serve customers sitting outside. Each time this happened, the hot air rushed in and mixed with the cool air inside, making us quite uncomfortable. Some time during the lunch, the hostess came close with a Windex sprayer and started to spray on the window at a distance of just 2 feet behind me. The smell of it was really annoying. I could have started coughing if I had gotten too much of that. After the odor had finally subsided and we thought we could breath a bit easier, the hostess came again, with that Windex sprayer in hand. She went outside and sprayed the outside of the glass. When the door was once more opened, the hot air rushed in mixed with the dreadful smell of Windex. Such was our first experience with the Red Star Tavern. It makes me wonder what kind of training the management give to their employees. I guess we won't be back there for a long long time. Pros: Good location and nice interior Cons: Badly trained employee.
