Review content:
I was so fooled by this place, it has a wonderful allure to it. It seems like a happy place with happy pups with GREAT warranties (which I assumed was why the puppies were so overpriced). Boy was I wrong! We fell in love with a little female chihuahua who seemed UNUSUALLY calm. She would just cuddle in our lap, including the lap of my 2 year old son. I figured she would be a great pet. we were assured by several people that that is always how she was, and she was just a very calm puppy and would be great with our toddler (despite the chi reputation that they aren't good family dogs) They told us she had been given a clean bill of health by 4 vets and dewormed. We got her home and after about a day Lucy changed. She became very rambunctious. Unusually hyper, nippy, and very temperamental. My father in law suggested (jokingly) that the dog was probably sedated. I now wonder if that was the case... At her first vet appt we were informed she was sick with an infection, kennel cough, AND worms (clean bill of health me backside!!!). All of her meds and vet visits were supposed to be covered completely under warranty, but somehow I ended up paying around $50 (which wasn't horrible, but still $50 more than I was told). We took her back home and things really got interesting. Lucy began to attack members of the family. She was laying in my mother in laws lap during TV time and all of a sudden jumps up and bites the inside of her nose causing her a fairly decent nose bleed. We chalked it up to puppy traits and decided Lucy would need just a bit more training. Then 3 days later while my son was laying on the couch falling asleep, lucy charged him out of nowhere VICIOUSLY attacking his eye, hanging onto his skin and was difficult to remove. He could have been blinded. I'd never seen dog behavior like this (we have had dogs our whole lives). The next day I called the pet shop explaining the situation telling them I couldn't take another chance with her and that I needed to bring her back for a refund (Which we were told was offered). We didn't get a refund. We had to pay a $50 rekenneling fee. And we were accused of mistreating the dog and that is why she was attacking people. The owner was so insulting. I brought my son and the dog up so he could see the damage insisting that the right thing to do since we only had the dog for a week was to refund us our money. He refused and threatened to have us banned from the mall if we repeated one more time what had happened (customers kept asking why we were bringing our puppy back). Save yourself heartbreak, time, and money. Go to a reputable breeder! You will spend a bit less money, and get peace of mind that the dog was not from a puppy mill. Do your homework before visiting this store!! There are other reviews out here with stories just like mine! Don't make the same mistake our family did...
