Do not let the 1-star negative reviews prevent you from checking out this store for yourself. Visit, look at the amazing selection, and make up your own mind. I found sturdy, high-quality furniture here at very low prices. Not all to my taste, but I could live with most of it. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I will be furnishing my new place with their merchandise... Just wish I had a larger place so I could buy more pieces. Please, check out this store, and take what others say with a grain of salt. I don't know of anyone who expects a charity thrift-store to reupholster furniture for them. Upholstering is expensive and should be arranged with someone who specializes in that, not with a store like this. And giving someone 1 star because they didn't return a couple of calls? Who goes in for that kind of drama? Also, if you expect side rails for a bed, and are told they exist, you should insist on seeing them before paying. That's just good sense. This store will accept donations of furniture and other items in good condition to support its work with the homeless and substance users. Do Astoria a favor and support this shop. It's good for everyone. (Also, because their prices are so low, you eBay-ers would do well to keep your eyes open for small items that you can buy and easily resell at twice the price or more.)
