Businiess name:  Gold's Gym

Review content:
After cancelling my membership without warning and without provocation, Gold's Waco had to contact ""Corporate"" to find out why I was dropped. They claim I had an outstanding unpaid balance but that was a bunch of crap. No explanation other than ""they have cancelled that membership, will waive the balance and will allow you to sign up for a new one. Well, my original membership in 2010 was like $22/month. When I went in a few months ago,2011, the membership rates were more like $29 every 4 weeks (notice the additional annual increase in revenue for them due to just changing from once/month to every 4 weeks). Now in 2012 they are saying $20 every two weeks!. ALL OF THESE ARE PLUS TAX! What a rip off. The facility is actually OK but their business practices put a really bad taste in my mouth. It is obvious that during this hard economic time, they are hurting and using every marketing and financing strategy they can to stay in business. I will opt to walk my streets for cardio and work out at home with dumbells rather than succumb to dirty marketing and finance practices. I may even join one of the lesser known local gyms that appreciate their customers.
