I decided to try Coastal Chem-dry after seeing all the positive reviews. The quote was somewhat higher than I had received from other companies in the past, but at least they were honest--I ended up paying exactly the price that we agreed on. Some local companies use a ""bait-and-switch"" technique where they advertise cleaning 5 rooms for $34.95, and then it ends up being $175 or more after they calculate all the extras. And the work usually isn't as good.
The man who cleaned my carpets was polite and very professional. He spent at least three times longer than anyone else has ever spent cleaning my 12-year-old carpets, and they looked very good when he was done. I appreciated that they were only a little damp when he was finished rather than wet, as they usually are after a cleaning. He didn't use a truck mount, which meant less noise and less air pollution. All in all I was very satisfied and would use their services again.
