Pernil Asado con Mojo. This is all you need to know about this place. Pernil Asado con Mojo is unequivocal proof that god exists, loves us, and wants us to be happy. If I were a Hassidic Jew, I would change religions, just for this beautiful plate of pork awesomeness. It is that good. If you like pork, you will love it; if you love pork, you will try to take it home and marry it. There is something beautiful about the combination of the garlic mojo and the tender and moist pork cuts that will drive you wild. It is no wonder why the Latin culture is so lively when they have food like this to ignite them. Never mind that they have fabulous Moros con Cristianos (Black beans and white rice), never mind that their tostones (fried green plantains) are glorious, never mind that their Ropa Vieja is unparalleled in Houston. Go for the Pernil. You will not regret it. Piquet is home to the best Cuban cuisine in Houston, it is a shame that it is all the way out in Bellaire, because I would go there much more often if it wasn't.
