Ben is a very manipulative businessman. Before hiring him to do some work on my car stereo project, we talked about all of the details and the price. When I showed up for him to do the work, the price increased by 20%. However, I still had him do the work. Things really appeared to be off when I stopped by to check on his work; he had ran my 4-gauge power wire directly under the gas petal, thus providing a hazard of shorting and interfering with the petals operation. I asked him to change this and he did, but the cable was still wired in a precarious place. Ben drilled unnecessary screw holes in my firewall, and also failed to seal the point where the cable came through the firewall. When it was time for me to do the final inspection and pay, I found that some of the work that we had agreed upon had not been done including a sub installation that we had talked about as part of his work. I told Ben that I would not pay for work that had not been done, and he said that he would lock my car in his shop. He then proceeded to barricade my car in the shop and kick me out, stating that I would have to take him to court in order to get my car back. I finally caved in and paid him. Then, upon driving home, I found that many of the screws that attach my center console to the car were missing!! I return to Ben and asked him to fix that and he showed me buckets and buckets of screws that he had collected from other customers' cars!! He told me to look through them and find ones that fit, and that's all was willing to do about it. In summary, HIRING BEN WAS A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE FOR ME, and I also observed him ripping off others while I was there. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!
