I had a good experience and grateful to have access to healthcare. I had been looking for a primary health care provider after I lost my job and couldn't afford COBRA and didn?t qualify for Medi-cal. I was pleasantly surprised how accessible and affordable this clinic was. I schedule an appointment over the phone at 9AM, showed up for my 10:30AM appointment and was out by 11:30. When I first arrived, the front desk medical assistant helped me fill it out as my paperwork. She was very nice, professional, and courteous. I waited about 5-10 minutes more before I was sent in to see the doctor. They took my blood pressure and weight and I waited for another 5 minutes before I actually saw the doctor. I was very upset about my recent job loss, and my diabetes was out of controlled. The doctor greeted me by my name and really seemed to be concerned about my well being. She really took the time to understand me and help me get the right medicine and get my life back. Living with diabetes is not easy, but I am glad that the doctors here really give me the support and education I need to take control of my disease. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs healthcare and doesn?t have private insurance. I?m just grateful to God to have a safety-net clinic that meets my needs and that helps prevent a trip to the hospital ER. Last time I went to the ER at UC Davis, my diabetes was so out of control, I was admitted for four days. Here I can see a doctor before I get complications and have to go to the ER. Thank you.
