Review content:
The service and ambience at Oak City is wonderful. The staff is attentive but not overbearing. The room is elegant and quiet enough for conversation.
But the food is just average, at least for lunch. It's not bad, just nothing special. I had cornmeal crusted calamari ($8), which was tender and not too chewy. I also had the portobello pizza with truffle oil ($9). There was literally one slice of portobello on each slice of pizza. Most of the entrees were around $9-10 at lunch.
It's a fine neighborhood restaurant but nothing to go out of your way for.
