I had these guys come out to get my furnace ready for the winter. They told me I needed to have my ignitor switch replaced, the motor cleaned, and all of my venting cleaned. A $1,500 bill. Oh, but they would discount it if I wanted to have the work done that day.
I had just replaced the ignitor switch less than 2 years ago, and had the vents cleaned not very long ago. I called back the company that had replaced the ignitor switch. They looked at the furnace and told me that everything is working great. No repairs needed. I should have just had them come out in the first place. That will teach me to try to save a little bit of money. If I hadn't been just a little bit familiar with these items and sceptical about what Action was telling me, they would have had a sucker paying them $1,500.
