Review content:
Delivered a crashed hard drive to the Geek and was told that they would have to send it to Illinois to try and get data off it. Cost was $1,000 plus cost to ship drive. Was told by ""Manager"" that it would take two (2) days. After a week I called and asked what was going on, they didn't know. Geek calls back and says that it will now take two weeks. I asked why and Geek just said that is the way it is. Geek refused to ever accept their responsibility in this entire matter. As far as they were concerned, it was out of their hands and they were no longer responsible. Manager of Village Geek in Cicero takes no responsibility for anything (but he is the manager). Had long and loud discussion with him about customer service, apparently he does not believe in it. I ended up calling their main location in Zionsville where a very nice lady did everything in her power to keep us advised of what was happening. Long and the short of it is they never got any info off the hard drive. We did get all our money back but they kept stringing us along for five (5) weeks before we finally said, ""that's enough"" and demanded our money back. I understand that sometimes the disk is fried but to take so long on it and have no communication does not instill confidence in their abilities.
Pros: Local
Cons: Never got anything done!
