I have an ancient AC system that has necessitated a ton of service calls. I have had a lot of firms out here for various repairs/check-ups, and honestly, they usually just look at my set-up and say, ""Whoa, this is OLD! You need a new one!"" Well, thanks, I'll take that under advisement the next time I have $6,000 laying around and not the faintest idea what to do with it.
Upon the recommendation of a friend, I rang Air Conditioning World to have both a straightforward repair done as well as obtain a second opinion on the entire system replacement issue. Both gentlemen with who I interacted, the one who scheduled my appointment for the very next morning, and the repair technician, could not have been more pleasant and courteous.
The tech was as prompt as a Swiss train - arrived precisely at the appointed time, to the minute. He gave the system a thorough once-over and accomplished the needed repair quite swiftly. His pronouncements about the health of my system were not so dire as others have been, and the cost for the check-up and the mechanical fix was extraordinarily reasonable - the entire bill was almost exactly what the 'big firms' have charged me just to show up.
Further, he said that due to the age of the system, the extremely costly maintenance work recommended by the last 'big firm' I had out to the house would have carried a strong possibility of actually causing more harm than good, likely causing leaks that WOULD have truly necessitated a system replacement.
It is such a pleasant surprise to have a great service experience, at so reasonable a cost - as everyone knows, that's all too rare these days. Be advised the firm is 'old school' and takes either cash or check in payment; no plastic.
