Review content:
I believe one of the co-owners name is Jeff Via. He installed a pool for us back in 2001, under the name ""Quality Pools"". We went with him because Jeff told us he would stand by his work. Well, when we began having issues with the liner, vermiculite and the concrete that had been poured around the pool, we couldn't get Jeff to fix the issues. I tried for three years to get him to resolve the problems we were having. By that time, ""Quality Pools"" had been closed and Jeff had opened another pool company under the name ""Atlantis Pools Inc"". When I did get a hold of him again, occasionally he'd forget to check his caller id before picking up, he said, ""Listen, you have to understand, Quality Pools no longer exists. If I have to fix the problems, I'm going to have to charge you."" I told Jeff that we decided to go with him, not the company he had decided to be called at that time. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with my decision.
Fast forward to today, May 2, 2011. Our liner now needs replaced. We decided to go with Gritz pools. When they removed the old liner, they found out that the base for the pool, vermiculite, had not be properly installed. A considerable amount of the vermiculite was not the hard surface they had expected to find, but was more of a clay material, non existent in some areas of the pool. Part of the problem, described to me by the lead from Gritz pools, was that they hadn't applied the proper thickness of vermiculite, which should have been 2"", but was barely an inch, and that they must not have added any concrete to the mixture. As they remeasured the layout for the pool, it was also noted that the dimensions ""Quality Pools"" had used, based on the remaining vermiculite, were way off.
Please, don't fall into the same trap we did. We trusted Jeff Via and were completely misled. It sucks that you don't find that out until after the job has been done. I have pictures if you would like to see the quality of craftsmanship performed by Jeff Via.
